COMPUTER TECHNICIAN

ERS International is seeking a qualified and experienced

Computer Technician to join our team in Toronto, Ontario.

Wage: $36.92 per hour
Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 30–40 hours per week

Job Duties

• Provide technical support and assistance for computer hardware, software, operating systems, and related IT equipment.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve computer hardware and software problems.

• Install, configure, test, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, applications, and peripheral equipment.

• Set up and configure computers, laptops, workstations, printers, and other IT equipment.

• Investigate technical issues and identify appropriate solutions to hardware, software, network, and system problems.

• Perform testing and technical assessments of computer equipment and systems.

• Replace or upgrade computer components and configure equipment as required.

• Provide technical guidance and support to users experiencing computer-related problems.

• Maintain records of technical issues, troubleshooting procedures, repairs, configurations, and solutions.

• Assist with the secure handling, configuration, and processing of data-bearing IT equipment.

• Follow established procedures for system security, data protection, and the handling of computer equipment.

• Provide recommendations regarding hardware and software upgrades, maintenance, and technical improvements.

Qualifications

• College diploma, certificate, or other relevant education/training in computer science, information technology, computer systems, electronics, or a related field.

• Previous experience in computer technical support, hardware/software troubleshooting, installation, configuration, or a related technical role.

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and peripheral equipment.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
